Week 4 Advice: Variety is the Spice of Life Profits
Determine at least 200-300 specific varieties to stock for the year: 100-150 “regulars”, and 100-150 seasonals (including leaving room for one-off special releases). You don’t have to carry 800-1000 varieties like the top take-out locations, but if you want to get recognized, you must carry at least 100 varieties of craft beer.
Spend time learning about the craft beer brands which will turn over the most for you… but don’t just listen to the Wholesale reps pitching their brands alone – consider having an independent 3rd party like Gateway Beers recommend what to carry each month, in order to net you the maximum sales volume.
